Monday, Sept. 7: The AI trade has a new pressure point. NVIDIA (NVDA) closed Friday at $230.36, up 0.84%, and finished only a few dollars below its 52-week high of $236.54. That is close enough to make the next move easy to frame: either buyers push through the old high, or the call flow runs into supply.
I keep a small notepad beside the keyboard for moments like this. The price chart tells me NVDA is strong. The Alpha Dashboard tells me why this strength matters now: a $1.3 million NVDA 235 call sweep, expiring Sept. 18, sits at the center of the latest Alpha Trades panel.
This is not a call to chase. It is a clean setup to watch. The stock is pressing resistance, the options tape is leaning the same way, and the broader AI complex is still moving. The question is whether that alignment survives the first test above the high.
What if the first signal after the long weekend is not another headline, but a clean break above the level the dashboard has been watching?
NVDA is the dashboard’s lead name
The latest dashboard snapshot is unusually clear. Sentiment reads 92.9%. The put/call ratio is 0.076. Tech leads the sector heatmap with $45.9 million across 46 orders. Most important, NVDA carries a +100 trend-strength score and appears at the top of the Alpha Trades table.
The call sweep is the useful detail. It is not a far-out lottery ticket. The $235 strike is close to spot, and the Sept. 18 expiry gives the trade time to test the level without turning the signal into a same-day bet. That makes the strike map more important than the headline. If price clears $236.54 and holds, the sweep starts to look like continuation flow. If price stalls below it, the same flow becomes overhead supply.

The chart says strength, not clearance
Friday’s candle closed at $230.36 after trading as high as $234.76. Volume reached 135.4 million shares, near the 135.6 million average shown in the quote snapshot. The chart is constructive: price sits above the 20-day EMA and the 50-day SMA. But the red line at $236.54 still matters. A strong stock can pause at a high.

The peer tape adds context without stealing the story. AMD rose 4.69% Friday. MU gained 6.10%. QQQ added 0.18%. That mix says the AI trade is broad enough to support NVDA, but it also raises the bar. NVDA needs to lead, not just participate.
Levels and scenarios for the week
- Breakout line: $236.54, the 52-week high. A close above it would confirm that the call sweep is meeting price.
- First support: $229.65–$230.36, the latest session range and close. Losing this zone would weaken the clean breakout setup.
- Trend support: the rising 20-day EMA near $219. A deeper pullback toward that line would reset the trade rather than erase the trend.
- Flow check: watch whether the $235 call remains the largest NVDA signal on the Alpha Dashboard or gets joined by fresh put demand.
The next earnings date on the calendar is Nov. 18, so this week’s story is not a near-term report. It is positioning. The dashboard is showing a leader, a close-to-spot call sweep, and strong tech breadth. Price now has to do the final piece of work.
If NVDA clears the high and holds, the setup becomes a breakout with flow behind it. If it rejects and slips under the first support zone, the better read is that the call sweep marked interest, not confirmation. I want to see both before calling the move durable.
P.S. The $235 strike is the level to keep beside the $236.54 high. Open AlphaX Options for the live strike map.
