Micron Stock Chart Tests the AI Memory Rebound

Micron stock has a clean chart question today: is this the start of a memory rebound, or a fast bounce inside October’s pullback? The AI-demand story has improved. The price still has work to do.

MU closed at $856.49 on October 22, then at $928.76 on Tuesday. At 11:02 a.m. ET Wednesday, the quote was $970.58, up 4.5% on the day. That is a real bounce, but it has not erased the drop.

The October 27 Alpha Dashboard showed a $915 MU call sweep expiring October 30, with $2.2 million in premium. Tech flow also leaned bullish. I like the chart best when price and flow agree, so check the dashboard’s MU options-flow panel before calling one green morning a sector turn.

Here is the tension: a call sweep can be a hedge or a crowded bet. Price must hold the rebound as new catalysts hit.

Can you tell if new MU calls are spreading, or if yesterday’s sweep was a one-off? AlphaX Options maps the flow around the chart.

AI memory demand is strong; MU still needs proof

SK hynix said its latest quarter set records as AI-memory demand grew. HBM, the high-bandwidth memory used in AI chips, is central to the story. HBM4 shipments have begun, and the company expects HBM4 to pass HBM3E in volume and sales in Q4, per its official release. These are preliminary company results, not a promise that every memory stock will rise.

SK hynix said long-term deals cover more than half of its planned 2027-28 output. That supports the demand case, but investors still want proof that AI spending earns a return. Reuters reported that Microsoft, Alphabet, and the Fed are today’s next tests.

The dashboard adds a flow check. Its October 27 screen showed $50.8 million in Tech premium across 31 trades, skewed bullish. MU’s sweep sat inside that wider flow. Today, watch whether several Tech names keep drawing interest or the move narrows to one ticker. Broad flow looks more like rotation; a lone name can fade faster.

Three levels tell the chart story

The line is turning up, but it has not cleared the levels that would make the repair convincing:

  • $856: the October 22 close and recent floor.
  • $929: Tuesday’s close. Holding it would keep the rebound intact.
  • $971 to $1,000: today’s quote and next round-number test. A quick fade leaves the bounce unproven.

From the October 22 low to Tuesday’s close, MU had retraced only about one-third of its slide. Today’s pop adds to the recovery, but follow-through matters more than a brief print above the morning high.

Tonight’s reports can reset the read

Microsoft and Alphabet report after the bell. Their cloud, AI-sales, and spending comments may move chip stocks. Today’s Fed decision adds another reason to wait for the close. If AI projects turn into revenue, memory demand has a stronger base. If costs outrun sales, a hot chart can cool fast.

On the Alpha Dashboard, I would watch whether MU flow persists and whether the sector heatmap stays broad. The chart says the bounce is alive; the flow view can show if it has company. Open the dashboard’s flow and sector views for that check.

Today’s chart is not a victory lap. SK hynix’s results support the memory story, and yesterday’s dashboard flow flagged MU before this jump. The next close will show if buyers can hold their ground.

Key things to watch: whether MU holds near $929, whether it can build above $971, and whether dashboard flow broadens beyond one name.

P.S. If tonight’s AI guidance widens the memory gap, AlphaX Options can help map the strike clusters before the next session.
