Sunday, Oct. 4: Friday’s bounce made the week look cleaner than it was. A softer September jobs report cooled rate-hike fears. The S&P 500 rose 0.7% on Friday to 7,722.72, while the Nasdaq gained 1.2% to 27,190.86. Yet for the full week, the S&P fell 0.3%, the Dow lost 1.3%, and the Nasdaq added 0.5%, according to the Associated Press recap.
I started with the broad tape, then opened the Alpha Dashboard’s Friday, Oct. 2 view. It showed a different split: heavy demand for tech calls, led by the AI names. The question for Monday is whether that flow can carry the index again, or if buyers only chased Friday’s bounce.
One green session can hide a narrow market. If the flow leaders fade while the headline indexes hold up, the dashboard may show the break before the price chart does.
The next open is the real test. If you want to see where the strike pressure sits as this split plays out, map the flow with AlphaX Options.
AI stocks held up better than the index
The chart tracks daily closes from Friday, Sept. 25 through Friday, Oct. 2, with each name reset to zero on the first day. NVDA led the group, up 3.9%. QQQ gained 0.7%, while MU fell 0.7%, MSFT added 0.3%, and SPY slipped 0.2%. The line is not a forecast; it shows how Friday’s rebound landed across this small group.

What the Alpha Dashboard flagged
The Friday dashboard snapshot showed 93.5% sentiment and a 0.069 put/call ratio. Tech flow reached $47.8 million across 37 orders, all calls. That is a sharp, one-sided signal. It does not prove that every buyer is bullish, but it shows where attention was concentrated.
NVDA led the bullish leaderboard with $27.1 million across 18 orders. The Alpha Trades panel also flagged a Nov. 20 QQQ $792 call sweep worth $3.1 million and a Nov. 6 AVGO $355 call sweep worth $3 million. Those strikes sit above Friday’s spot prices, so follow-through matters more than the print alone.

Last week’s reads and Monday radar
- Monday’s single-name spotlight: the Copilot repricing test. The dashboard lens centered on MSFT and its $520 flow line.
- Wednesday’s chart: Micron’s $1,109 earnings test. The MU setup met its report with a nearby ceiling and support below.
On my radar: First, watch whether NVDA and QQQ keep their place near the top of the dashboard’s bullish list. A new group of leaders would make the signal healthier than another single-name burst. Second, Monday’s ISM Services PMI arrives at 10 a.m. ET, and the September FOMC minutes follow Wednesday at 2 p.m., per CNBC’s week-ahead calendar.
The read is simple: the index had a green Friday, but the weekly move still split. Open the Alpha Dashboard to track whether tech flow widens beyond its current leaders. If it does, the bounce has better footing. If it stays narrow, Friday may have been only a pause in a choppy tape.
