Sunday, Oct. 11: Friday lifted the indexes, not every AI chip. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq each rose 0.6% after Thursday’s decline, per AP News. But the dashboard told a different story underneath.
With Friday, Oct. 9 selected, the Alpha Dashboard showed 87.7% sentiment and $30.8 million in tech flow: 18 orders, 17 calls and one put. An NVDA Oct. 30 $240 call sweep carried $2.1 million in premium.
That is the tension: chip prices fell over the week while traders kept buying calls. The chart puts that split beside the broad ETFs.

The chip chart tells a narrower story
From Oct. 2 to 9, SMH fell 4.3%; SPY rose 1.2% and QQQ added 0.2%. Within chips, AVGO gained 1.8%, while NVDA lost 2.0%, AMD lost 4.1%, and MU lost 4.3%. Friday’s bounce did not reach every name.

What Friday’s dashboard flow says
The tape was not one-way. Dashboard bullish leaders were NVDA at $12.4 million, AMZN at $10.6 million, and TSLA at $9.3 million. Tech led the heatmap with $30.8 million. That is flow, not proof of a rally.

Price still matters. If the chip basket steadies and fresh calls spread, the dip may be rotation. If just one or two names keep drawing premium, the signal stays narrow. I will watch the NVDA panel and see if AVGO holds its gain.
On my radar: CPI and Taiwan Semi
Two checks arrive fast. September CPI is due Wednesday, Oct. 14. Taiwan Semi’s Q3 report follows Thursday, Oct. 15, per the Schwab Network calendar. Bank results start Tuesday. A new report from Taiwan Semi (TSM) will add a fresh read on chip demand.
- Leaders: Do fresh orders stay in NVDA, or spread?
- Breadth: Does tech remain call-led after CPI?
- Split: Can SMH catch up with QQQ?

The dashboard showed call demand, but chip prices have not confirmed a broad rebound. Check the Alpha Dashboard before Monday’s open to see if the flow grows or fades.
P.S. CPI, bank earnings, and Taiwan Semi all land within three sessions. AlphaX Options can help track the next wave of call and put demand.
