NVDA Chart: The AI Trade Reclaims Control

There is a moment in a chip chart when the story changes. For NVDA, that moment came when price stopped treating 217.50 as a ceiling and started using it as a floor. The move is not just a green candle. It is a test of whether the AI trade still has real sponsorship.

I watched this name lose its rhythm in late June, then build it back in pieces. Today’s chart shows the clean part: price is back above the short moving averages, volume is still active, and the next push is arriving before NVIDIA’s Aug. 26 earnings report.

BEFORE THE BREAKOUT

The chart can show the reclaim. The harder question is whether fresh options flow is arriving behind it. Keep the strike map beside the price action with AlphaX Options.

What the NVDA chart is saying

The chart below is simple on purpose. It tracks the daily close with 10-day, 20-day, and 50-day averages. After the late-June washout, NVDA spent weeks repairing the trend. Now the close is pressing the top of the recent range, while the 10-day average is curling higher.

NVDA daily price, moving averages, and volume. The 217.50 area is the near-term line that changed from resistance into a test of support.

At the open on Wednesday, NVDA was quoted at 224.13, up 3.05% from the prior close, with an early high of 225.10. The important detail is not the exact print. It is that price is revisiting the upper edge of the range while the short trend lines are rising beneath it.

  • Regain: 217.50 is the first level that keeps the breakout structure intact.
  • Extension: 224.73 is the recent chart high to clear and hold.
  • Failure test: A close back below the 20-day average would weaken the clean reclaim.
  • Catalyst: NVIDIA reports fiscal Q2 2027 results on Aug. 26 after the close.

The Alpha Dashboard adds the missing layer

Price alone can make a breakout look obvious after the fact. The Alpha Dashboard gives the move a second lens: on its Aug. 11 snapshot, NVDA appeared in Alpha Trades with a 217.50 call expiring Aug. 24 and $2.5 million in premium. Its trend-strength panel showed NVDA at +64.1 with $4.8 million in flow.

NVDA on the Alpha Dashboard: the Aug. 11 snapshot paired the 217.50 call flow with positive trend strength. The dashboard is the source of truth for the flow view.

That is why the dashboard matters here. If you open the Alpha Dashboard NVDA panel, you are not just checking whether the stock is green. You are checking whether the options tape, trend score, and sector flow are telling the same story. When they line up, a chart reclaim has more information behind it. When they split, the chart deserves more caution.

What could change the picture?

The bullish case needs follow-through, not a single opening burst. NVIDIA’s new financing push with major asset managers keeps the AI infrastructure theme in focus, but earnings will decide whether the demand story is still accelerating. The company’s own newsroom says the Aug. 26 call will cover fiscal Q2 2027 results; NVIDIA’s latest announcements are the cleanest place to track that calendar.

Here is the framework I would keep on screen:

  • Can NVDA hold 217.50 after the first burst of momentum?
  • Does the dashboard keep showing fresh call premium, or does the flow fade?
  • Does the Aug. 26 report support the price’s return to the highs?

The story is still the AI trade, but the chart is more specific: NVDA is trying to turn a reclaimed level into a launch point. The dashboard is showing the flow that made the reclaim worth watching. That combination is the whole chart of the day.

ONE MORE CHECK

P.S. If NVDA is the name on your screen today, keep the flow map open beside the 217.50 reclaim. AlphaX Options shows the strike-level context that a price chart cannot.
