Friday’s tape looked easy: tech bounced, the Nasdaq gained 1.30%, and the S&P 500 finished another week near record territory. But the cleaner read is more useful than the headline. I watched NVDA and AVGO reclaim ground while AMD still looked like it was paying for a high bar.
That split is the weekend story. The AI trade is alive, but buyers are getting choosier. The Alpha Dashboard is the right lens here because it shows the difference between broad risk appetite and the names actually attracting fresh flow.
What if the next AI leader is not the stock with the loudest earnings headline, but the one where flow, trend, and a clean level line up first?

The dashboard says risk-on, not indiscriminate
Friday’s dashboard snapshot carried 92.4% sentiment and a 0.082 put/call ratio. ETF/N led the sector heatmap at $25.5 million, with Tech next at $17.7 million. Yet the top alpha trades were SPCX, ORCL, and SPY. That mix says traders still want upside, but they are choosing specific stories rather than buying every chip name.

The price chart tells the same story. NVDA and AVGO finished the month above their July starting points. AMD bounced from its late-July low but still lagged the group. That is why a dashboard glance matters: trend scores can stay strong while the leaderboard quietly rotates.

What moved the tape, and what comes next
Reuters’ week-ahead read flags July CPI on Wednesday, plus PPI and retail sales. Earnings keep the stock-first test going: CRWV reports Tuesday, CSCO Wednesday, and AMAT Thursday. The question is simple: does fresh data broaden the AI bid, or send traders back to the few names already proving demand?
This week in three clicks
- AMD’s Earnings Gap Is the AI Chart to Watch: a strong quarter still met a tougher tape.
- NVDA’s $200 Pivot Is the Dashboard Tell: price and flow reclaimed the lead.
- The AI Trade Gets Selective: last Sunday’s warning now has a cleaner chart.
On my radar for Monday: whether the dashboard’s bullish leaders stay concentrated in SPCX and ORCL, or whether the semiconductor names start to rejoin the list. That rotation is the story to watch before the next headline arrives.
