NVDA Chart of the Day: Trend vs. Supply

Chart of the Day: NVIDIA (NVDA) has been the heartbeat of the AI tape all year. The real question isn’t “is AI real?” It’s whether traders will keep paying up for the leaders after nasty pullbacks.

I had a buddy text me this week: “NVDA looks broken.” I pulled up the chart and the flow. It didn’t look broken. It looked like the same reset we’ve seen all year.

Today’s chart frames that idea in plain English: trend vs. supply. And if you want to see how NVDA is showing up in real-time flow and leadership tables, open the Alpha Dashboard. That’s where we track which names are getting real money behind them.

Here’s the cliffhanger: NVDA can drop fast. But if the trend holds and buyers keep showing up in options flow, the next leg can start while most traders are still waiting for a “clean” signal.

This is the simplest way to keep your head straight on a market leader:

  • Trend: Is price above rising moving averages, or chopping below them?
  • Supply: Does volume expand on selloffs (distribution) or contract (lack of sellers)?

In a strong AI tape, leaders often do the same thing over and over: they puke, they stabilize, and then they rip again once weak hands clear out. The chart tells you whether you’re looking at a healthy reset… or a regime change.

How to use the Alpha Dashboard for this setup

If you opened the Alpha Dashboard right now with NVDA in mind, you’re looking for three quick confirmations:

  • Is NVDA showing up in the UOA / flow leaders? Repeated call sweeps after dips are the classic “buy the pullback” signature.
  • Is Tech still leading on the sector heatmap? If sector leadership stays green while NVDA chops, it’s usually a pause—not a top.
  • Do breadth + sentiment stay constructive? Leaders can hold up only if the tape has enough risk appetite behind it.

Levels & what to watch next

  • Near-term line in the sand: the 20-day moving average. If NVDA reclaims it cleanly after a dip, buyers are still in control.
  • Trend health check: the 50-day moving average. Losing it with expanding volume is when the “just a pullback” narrative starts to crack.
  • Flow tell: stacked call sweeps on down days often lead the next leg higher. If that shows up on the dashboard, it’s a major sign the dip is getting bought.

Zoom out and keep it stock-first: NVDA doesn’t need a perfect macro backdrop to run—it needs incremental buyers, a bid in the AI complex, and a tape that keeps rewarding risk.

Bottom line

Today’s chart is your “stay honest” check: if NVDA can keep trend structure intact while volume on selloffs stays contained, the path of least resistance stays higher. But if dips start coming with real size, the dashboard will show it first—flow dries up, leadership fades, and the tape stops forgiving.

P.S. If you want these reads packaged as a repeatable process—one dashboard glance, one flow check, one level map—that’s exactly how we use AlphaX Options every session to stay aligned with what’s actually moving markets.
